What is the current situation in United Kingdom after the Brexit

Imagen
In my point of view, the Brexit will bring more security, culture and reduce the public spending in the country. One of the advantages for United Kingdom with the Brexit is the decrease of the net migration. On September 2016, the number of immigrants was 273,000 against 49,000 from the last year. For the england citizens, this helped to control the overpopulation in United Kingdom. But, in the economic aspect, the pound fell after the brexit referendum around 15% lower compared to the dollar and 12% lower compared to the euro. Also, Brexit created an internal political crisis in UK, because Scotland and Irland voted about stay in European Union, but in the last months, these cities want to separate from the country to join by themselves to the European Union. It is necessary to explain that United Kingdom want to start making trades by itself and no limit the commerce because of the United Nation. Since Brexit, UK does not spend around 28 million US...

The incidence of tobacco farming in the context of wealth and poverty in the world

Mankind is very well-known for its particular ability to find and exploit opportunities where there are none. For instance, the growing, processing, and selling of a type of plant with no apparent practical application in day-to-day life, was one of those many great man-guided endeavors. That is the case of the tobacco, a plant species belonging to the Nicotiana genus and the Solanaceae family. After its discovery and further investigation by native American civilizations, its natural properties were brought to light, leading to the usage of this asset for both leisure and medical purposes. As time passed by, this tradition was transmitted over generations, at such a point that, nowadays, tobacco farming has a great impact on economic and socio-cultural issues all over the world. Specifically, tobacco affects the worldwide community in three main aspects. The two first points to be analyzed contrast both faces of a same coin: the substantious monetary benefits received by people, com...

Have social networks always existed?

I think that social networks have been with us since the beginning; the only difference is the name that has been given to them. Before globalization, people sent messages with letters that travelled through towns, villages, or even countries. Surely, that must have been really annoying, for it must be really stressing not to know whether your letter has arrived to the destinatary and having to wait for an unsure answer. Later, without the improvement of the electric telegraph, the telephone would not exist. Now, we can use the phone to communicate inmediately with someone and hear their voice.  The telephone entreprises take advantage to sell this service because it has been demanded by people since 1910.  Moreover, Internet was developed in 1990, the use of Internet has increased so fast in the occidental. The majority of communications' industries - including radio, television and the newspaper - have adapted to globalization. This event also caused the appearance of n...

What Language means?

Language is considered a tool that has existed since many years ago, when humans felt the necessity to tell their group or community what they had to do in order to survive during each period. This system, developed by the first men, is learned and passed through cultures until today. The language is considered as a factor that makes us different from animals because language exists to improve the communication in the societies. The ability to express our knowledge, ideas, and emotions in a verbal and non - verbal way made us capables individuals to represent the world with only sounds, words and body language, and also to explain what we want with just facial gestures.

About me

This is a new section of my blog for my class "Conflicts and Consensus of the Contemporary Society" at University . First of all,  my name is Marjorie Seminario. I'm 19 years old. I'm studying Audiovisual Communication because I like to make short films and also, I'm really interested in the Ecuadorian TV production. I would like to work in a TV channel to create new programs and good content for new series.  In my free time, I like to watch movies at the movie theater with my boyfriend. Though, at other times, I just like to stay at home watching Netflix series. My favorite show is Once Upon a Time. I'm also watching "The Returned" at the moment. Finally, I have to say that I'm not really good at talking in english because I spent almost my whole 4 high-school years studying french at  L'alliance francaise  and got my DELF B2 degree. I prefer this language because of its beautiful pronunciation. I hope someday I will go to France and vis...
